Little bit about Viharamahadevi Park
Viharamahadevi Park is the oldest and largest park in the whole of Colombo. It is a public park located next to the National Museum in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The park is named after the Queen Viharamahadevi, mother of King Dutugamunu. This park is the only large-scale public park in Colombo and is maintained by the Colombo Municipal Council. The park consists of a Buddha statue, a series of water fountains, a mini zoo, play area for children and a BAC Jet Provost. The park has lately been renovated and some things have been changed. Now it looks very calm, clean and spacious, it also looks great at night. Before it was just a picnic spot and a play area for kids, but now couples or friends could walk in at night to get some fresh air or have get-togethers. Benches and lights have been put up for a relaxed night out.
