Little bit about Gadaladeniya Temple
This is an ancient temple situated in the area of Pilimithalawa, Kandy. It is known to be the largest rock temple in Sri Lanka. The temple was built by King Bhuvanekabahu IV in 1344. The basic architecture of this temple has been designed with the use of artistic designs that have been created by a South Indian architect. The temple was fashioned in the Dravidian architectural style also using Sinhalese architecture from the Polonnaruwa era and other Indo Chinese patterns and evidences the cultural mix and harmony in the country. The main temple building is unique that can be said as is built entirely of sculptured granite.
Yet again, this is another stunning architecture that you will like to visit.
