Lovamahapaya is a building situated between Ruwanweliseya and Sri Maha Bodhiya. This is located in the city of Anuradhapura. The building was a huge nine storied, with a height of 150 ft and sides, each, 150ft length. Forty rows of stone pillars with forty pillars, a total sum of 1600 pillars supported the building. Since the roof of the building was covered with Bronze Tiles, they called it the ‘Brazen Palace’. It is believed that the architectural plan was brought down from the heaven. King Devanampiya Thissa constructed the building in the 3rd century BC, although the building was later reconditioned several times. A place that is blessed from the Heavens, is a must see. This is another destination that attracts Buddhists and most tourists.
