Little bit about Fort Fredrick

This is a Fort built by Portuguese at Trincomalee, Sri Lanka in the year 1624. This was built with the use of debris from an ancient Hindi temple which was destroyed by the Portuguese. The Fort Fedrick is a tourist attraction, the Koneswaram Temple lies inside this Fort. The Fort is open to public eventhough, it is used by the Sri Lankan Military. Most of the Fort is explored by foot or vehicle. You could find assorted cannons and artillery dotted around the enclave, which contains a few spotted deer grazing underneath a huge banyan tree. Along with this, many other historic sites could be found and visited. The visit to the Fort is a must when travelling to the Trincomalee city. The beautiful insides and the surroundings would amaze the visitors.
