Little bit about Abhayagiri Stupa

Abhayagiri temple is one of the oldest shrines and is known as the second tallest monuments in Sri Lanka. This Stupa was constructed by King Valagamba. The massive Stupa is the main attraction, as of today. The particular Stupa stands 74.98 meters to the tip of the damaged sphire. This monument is known as a special element, because, even after 1000 years, the top portions of the original Stupa still survives. The Stupa still has the same glimpse it used to have, even after thousands of years negligence. The current Stupa is covered by grass and trees, more like a mound of earth, similar to the way as it used to be thousands of years ago. The visit to this Stupa would definitely be a memorable one. Yet again, another sacred and religious location of the Buddhist. Not only Buddhist, it is a travel location for all.
